Wow, sucky practice. Time to move on. If you want to try treating the acne again, try only one med at a time & change to another only if the first
doesn't work or causes intolerable side effects.

Bleah, I feel like crap. I had diarrhea this morning and felt like I was going to throw up but never did. I had a can of Slim Fast at 2pm and now I am slowly
sipping some cream of chicken soup. My head has been hurting and I just feel wrung out. Worst thing is, we are supposed to go up and see my mom and sister
tomorrow afternoon and I don't know if I will be up to it. There have been all kinds of things going around at work. We used to keep a can of Lysol up at
the Service Desk so we could spray the phone and computer keyboards when someone was sick, but our head LP gal told us we weren't allowed to have hand
lotion, hand sanitizer or a can of Lysol up there...I think she thought we were just taking it off the shelf and using it, but the department was paying for
it. She made us throw away a nearly full container of Lysol spray and a full bottle of lotion...how stupid is that??
I hope I feel better tomorrow...it is a two hour drive to see my family and we were planning on eating and spending some time together before we came back home...then I have to work the following 4 days before I get another day off.

Do you feel better today,Lt?
I have an appointment with an orthopedic doctor tomorrow. I'm going to attempt to go to work tomorrow beforehand so I can get a bit of work done. I warned my boss that I wouldn't be able to stand much. When I told her that I was going to be using a cane she wanted to know if I'd be wearing a top hat and monocle as well. Sigh. I get no respect. |

Is your knee still that sore from moving a few weeks ago?
|

Judois |

Yep. I don't know what I did. I know that when I was moving some heavy boxes I tried to just use my shoulders and legs so my back would be ok. It
must've been that. But since then till Friday it would just feel a bit stiff when I got up. Friday night after work it felt really sore and I could barely
sleep. Same thing Saturday and Saturday night. Sunday I tried dealing with it at work but then when I stepped off the curb, pow! it felt like somebody hit my
knee with a hammer.

Yikes. I hate those how-the-hell-did-I-do-this injuries. My ribs still hurt like hell since Friday, and while I'm assuming I strained or overworked some
muscle(s) in tae kwon do, certainly nothing felt like I was doing damage at the time so I really don't know why I've been feeling like someone whaled
on me with a baseball bat. I also don't know why the pain has moved from my back around to my side. It ought to make tae kwon do extra fun tomorrow.

I have two very large bruises on my left leg, and I have no idea how they got there. They aren't sore, but they are really noticeable. I don't remember
bumping into anything. I'm sorry about your injuries, FH and Judois. Being inconvenienced like that without something to
definitely blame it on is frustrating!
I have a really awful taste in my throat. Usually that's the first sign I am getting a cold - and I haven't had one for ages (I'm so glad I got the flu shot last year). It's not sore, exactly, but it is uncomfortable and I don't want to talk because it hurts. The throat lozenges I usually take aren't helping. I'm guessing maybe I caught whatever my fiancee's sister has had for the last three weeks, since we've spent a fair bit of time with her the last two weekends and she's been coughing non-stop. |

I was doing some closet cleaning and under-bed cleaning on Saturday, and though neither seemed hugely strenuous, I've been stiff and sore all over for the
past two days.
This is how I know that I'm not in shape. |

Highhorse, I would suggest gargling with warm salt water every morning and evening.

Ooh, I hate that feeling -- I know exactly what you're talking about. I also recommend the gargle. It won't hurt anything, it's soothing, and it may knock out some bugs before they can get established. |

With me, it's always a feeling like I inhaled nail polish remover. That's the first sign of a cold for me.
Hm. I wonder if I'm anemic right now. I've been tired and craving beef like crazy the last couple of weeks and I'm not much of a red meat eater.

I went to the orthopedic doctor today. He told me that he thought I had fluid on my knee so he was going to drain it. After he did so, he showed me that it
wasn't just regular "fluid" it was blood! He was surprised, as was I. It wasn't just a tiny bit of blood either. He thinks I have a torn
cartilage. I go for an MRI tomorrow then go see him about 10 days later. I had them write me a note to be out of work thru Monday. Luckily, I was taking a four
day weekend to go out of town (that's gone now) so I just had to take tomorrow and Thursday off from work.
What's funny is when you tell a doctor something about yourself and his exasperation at how people just live with pain when they don't have to. Me: Oh,just so you know. I have a pinched nerve just above my right knee. Doc: Have you seen anyone about it? Me: I saw a doctor a year ago. Doc: And what did they do for you? Me: Oh, they just gave me some exercises and that's all. Doc: Any injections? Me: No Doc: MRI? Me: No Doc: Any medicine? Me: No Doc: So you haven't really gotten any treatment for it, have you? Me: Well, no. I just thought I had to live with it. Doc: There are a lot of options for treating that. Obviously. Last time that I don't see a specialist for something like that. |

Gah. I had two moles removed last Friday. One, right under my breast, which was getting rubbed by my bra all the time, and one in my armpit, that I shaved all
the time. So, the one under my breast is healing up like a champ. There's just a pink spot there now, and it looks great. Yay! However, the one in my
armpit? It's taking forever! Ok, it's only been a week, and the post-op sheet says it could take 2-3, but good lord. It's still a hole with
discharge! Bleh. And it's in such an annoying spot that doesn't like to hang on to bandaids. I'm guessing it's because I move my arm around so
much during the day, but I just want it to heal!!!! WAAAAHHH!!!!
Ok, I'm going to be fine. It's just making me a little nutty. And honestly, it looks fine. It's just barely pink, the discharge looks fine to me, etc. It's just still a hole while the other one looks so great. Dear former mole spot, I would like to wear a sleeveless dress to a party next weekend, and I would appreciate it if you could accommodate me. |

Can you use something like liquid band-aid? Or is that advised against since it's more of a hole than a cut?
|

Do you have to refrain from using deodorant on the formerly moled underarm?
|
|||
Kero11 |
|||

Yep, until it's healed. That's why I waited until I was unemployed to do this. Also, since I'm always cold, I'm not much of a sweater. But I
don't think the liquid bandaid stuff will work. I don't know much about it, but I have to change the bandaid every day, after washing the area, and
doesn't the liquid stuff last longer?
The other fun side effect is that I reach into my shirt about 45,000 times a day to check bandaid integrity. Fortunately, I'm usually home for this, but not always. |
|||
SpaceyCadet |
|||

Yeah, the liquid stuff lasts longer, so probably wouldn't be a good option. What size band-aid are you using? Can you use a larger one? Or maybe one of the
big squares instead of one of the rectangular ones? Or maybe a gauze pad with tape?
Okay, shutting up now.... |

I have a lump in my armpit that's been bothering me for a few months. I'm hoping it's just a cyst that can be easily removed somehow. But to find
out I need to go to the doctor. But I haven't been to the doctor because I keep thinking it'll just go away on its own.
Does it hurt, Kero? |
|||
Kero11 |
|||
|
Nope, doesn't hurt at all. It stung for maybe a half hour after the lidocaine wore off, the day I had it done, but it hasn't hurt since. These are the
5th and 6th moles I've had removed, so it's really old hat for me, now. A cyst would probably be drained, rather than removed, but you should go have
it looked at, because of the other things that are in your armpital area. Like lymph nodes and such, I think. Better to know than not.
I'm using a medium bandaid, I'd say, but I got the super-tough ones, with the thick fabric, that are super sticky. I used them for the last ex-mole, and they worked pretty well, so I stuck with them this time. I think the bandaid is the best option, because it allows for some circulation while still protecting it from stuff, and keeping the neosporin on there. The key I've now learned is that you can't raise your arm to put the bandaid on, because when you lower your arm, it gets all squishy and doesn't stay on. You have to get your arm as low as possible while putting on the bandaid, so it's a more natural position. That seems to help quite a bit. I can't them raise my arm very high, but whatever. |

An armpit lump can also be ingrown hair, and I don't know if they go away on their own. Have someone look at it,, onefire; it's
probably a quick fix.
