I'm on day three of feeling icky, but not. I'm really, really tired and have slept way more than any one person should sleep in the last 48 hours (and
I'm still tired), and my head hurts, but everything else feels basically like it always does (My nose is never not congested, so that doesn't really
count). I'd like it if my body would decide whether it's going to be sick or not, because this is not working.

That's how I felt last week, eda.
I really need to stop burning myself while cooking. This is the third time in three months that I have blisters because I did something stupid while cooking. |

Aw, poor zan! I hate burns - I mean, nobody likes burns, but I'm such a baby about them. If I had a burn bad enough to blister, I
would be crying my eyes out and sitting with my hand in icewater for the next 8 hours.
I'm also on the sick-but-not-sick plan. Manifesting mostly as extreme achiness, at the moment. |

Well, when I was 8 years old, I scalded myself so badly that I was in the hospital for three or four days with giant blisters on my left leg (and this was
after burning myself the first time when I was a year and a half), so most of the minor burns I get pale in comparison. But it isn't fun, that's for
sure.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm so so sick. I've been vomitting all night and only just stopped. I've got an appointment at 2pm
but I can't sleep, am shaky and pale.
Of course my boss when I call him says "But we have CEO coming today!" Do you want me to throw up on him? |

Heh. I hope you feel better, ren.
I am achy and painy from moving. My right knee feels like I did something to it. It particularly hurts when I get up. I limp around for a few minutes till it works itself out. I know I lifted some pretty heavy things on Saturday and I guess that's what it's from. I need new body parts. Starting with my legs. |

Food poisioning maybe, ren?

I'm not sure sea. It could have been, but I'd only had chicken stirfry the night before (that I made) I might not be the best cook but I've never
given myself food poisining!
So the saga of the right arm continues. I think I've changed my pitching style to compensate for my elbow. So now both my elbow AND my shoulder hurt when pitching! It was our semi today so I had to pitch, but God it was agony. My coach usually DPs me for important game (the whole fat and slow thing, plus being so unfit I struggle to pitch as well. Guess what my off season plan is?) but we managed to have FOUR people missing today for various stuff (dude, its SEMIS!) so we only had the bare nine, and that was with two juniors playing up! Of course the game went seven digs. The last two were a massive struggle, not helped by the fact that one girl on my team kept making mistakes. They got three runs in, all through errors, which really was killing me as I was in SO much pain. We go into top seventh up by one run (4-3) and thank God we did three up three down. The last out was a floating fly up to first, and this was another girl who'd been injured so I was TERRIFIED she was going to drop it. Thankfully she didn't and we won! Straight through to the grand final in two weeks time where I can do it all again! (and then have at least three months off before I start pitching again. Its just a RSI injury but its still painful) I don't think my team had realised how much pain I was in, but the bursting into tears when time was called probably made them aware! Sobbed for about ten minutes and then had ice on it to watch the grade above us. Its slightly better now, but thank goodness we're not playing next week! |

Whaddya mean, "just a RSI injury"? Those suckers are painful AND they can be disabling if you don't take proper care of them. It's not like a
paper cut, you know! Take care of it!

I KNOW its painful! I can't sleep because of it! (mmmm ice pack) I've been having physio weekly on it and will probably go twice this week. But one of
the big things for RSI injuries is stopping the movement that is causing it. In two weeks I have six months off pitching, (well three than I need to get back
into training. I need to correct my style which I think it what's causing it. I'll have my backyard then so I can rig up a net and work on it!) which
will help it immensly.

3 months off should help it heal, so it's good that you're close to the end of the season.

All I can say is that I'm glad my surgeon was a firm believer in opioids.
Edited to add, hooray! The strabismus specialist doesn't need to see me any more unless something changes, so I'm back down to 2 eye doctors (from a high of 4).

You know you must look pretty damn miserable if the urgent care doc gives you narcotics for a tension headache, albeit a three day, extremely painful head in a
vise tension headache that keeps waking me up. Advil was doing nothing, so the stronger stuff is probably warranted at this point. On the good side, though,
they seem to work at least a little, although I'll have to see what happens when I take the full dosage (I only took half because I tend to get knocked on
my ass with these things. But half only worked for about an hour or so).

Wow. I just stretched and my arm socket gave such a loud crunch and pop, I would have sworn I broke my arm off. I'm genuinely surprised there's no
pain!
Getting old sucks. |

Amen to that. When I complain about my aches and pains, one of the guys I work with will say "You're going to enjoy 57".
My left eye is all watery and itchy and the pupil is slightly dilated - just enough to make everything blurry. |

Must be - the itchy and watery part anyway. I think the dilated part is from the eyedrops I've been using - Visine A. I haven't used it since early
this morning, and the dilation has gone away.

Getting old definitely sucks. I'm not sure which is worse: my body refusing to do the things I tell it to do, or ancient injuries (from my teen years!)
coming back from the dead to haunt me. For 30 years, I couldn't remember which ankle I sprained badly when I was 17, but in the last year I've been
repeatedly, painfully reminded that it was my right ankle.

Man, it's hard to go to the dermo for me sometimes. I haven't been back since I had the acne shenanigans last year, but since I have all this free
time, I decided to get a few moles removed, and to get my full body mole check, since the acne crazyperson never really did that. So, that doctor is no longer
with the practice, and I saw a new doctor. So I go in, and tell him I want a mole check, to get the melium thing drained, and to remove three moles, one of
which is on my face. So he gives me the long lecture about not removing moles on your face, in case they leave a bigger scar. Yes, yes, I've heard it
before, but fine, we don't have to do it today. I had a PA once tell me they could just slice the top off, but I think that might be wrong, because the
doctors always tell me they have to dig the whole thing out, which will indeed leave a larger hole. Anyway, I have two more I want off, one under my breast
that gets rubbed by my bra, and one in my armpit that I shave all the time. So, he does those, but gives me the basic lecture about mole removal. Yeah, thanks,
these are number 4, 5, and 6 of moles removed for me, so I know, please read my chart. And then he tries to leave, so I remind him I want the melium drained,
and he does that, and quizzes me about it. Yes, I get them all the time, yes, I just want it drained, again, please read my chart. Another brief lecture. And
then he asks me why I stopped using the acne meds. Um, because, as I reported, they were burning and giving me hives? And I had to keep coming back to the
doctor every two weeks because of the burning, and I couldn't afford that? AGAIN, PLEASE READ MY CHART. He wanted to know which med gave me hives. I
don't know, because I was taking them all at the same time.
Anyway, long story long, I guess I'm going to have to find another doctor. This office was great for a while, but I don't want to be a number. I need you to answer my questions, and not try to hustle me out. So then I try to ask some questions at the end, but he's clearly done, and heading out the door. Yes, I should have insisted, but I didn't want to anymore, since I was annoyed. Tell me why you think my acne is so bad. What am I not seeing? I'm not broken out at all! Yes, I have clogged pores, and yes, I wash my face twice a day. What else should I do about that? Is that what he's talking about? Oy. |
