Oh for heavens sake. People are still trying to get around that whole "eat less and exercise more" thing, I see. Does Oprah have something to do with
this? Did she promote this on her show?

I think they're just the new fad superfood. I have no idea how they got lumped into weight loss. AFAIK, they're just better-for-you blueberries
(nutritionally speaking, not taste). I love acai, though. Unfortunately, acai juice is too expensive for me to buy regularly.

Does it taste better than pomegranate juice? That stuff is the yuck.

I have new shoes! They are these and I got them at DSW for 50% off of
the clearance price, so they were only about $30. They were the very first pair I picked up and they fit so well and so comfy, that I don't think I even
tried any others on.

EDA, I had a very similar shoe shopping experience the other day! I wanted new black shoes for work, and I went to Macy's. The first pair I picked up were
on clearance and fit well. I bought them, and didn't try on any other shoes. I never had it so easy before. I'm going shopping this weekend for some
more work pants; I hope it's just as easy as the shoes were.

I haven't noticed, but men in my office don't wear ties much. I'll keep an eye out!

If I see anyone at work wearing a tie besides security, I figure they've got a job interview.

Sorry for the double post. I'm not even sure this belongs here, but I don't know where to put it. Check out this kid - Arlo Weiner. He's the son of the creator of Mad Men, and he's got to be
the coolest kid I've ever seen. Don't miss the slideshow.

"Most of my ties, like this one, are clip-ons." Hee. He's very cute.

Don't you want to hang out with him? I want to be his friend.

I wore a newer pair of shoes tonight for the second time, and I think I'm going to have to retire them already. Sigh. They're so cute, and pretty
comfortable, but they are wood platform, and they DO NOT BEND. It's so annoying! I keep walking out of them and stumbling. Ugh. But they're such a
great caramel color, and they match like everything. I will have to stick to cork platforms, which bend. I went out to dinner tonight with a group of friends,
and my friend's husband said I was walking like Frankenstein. Boo.

Bummer! I feel your pain. I have, that is, HAD, a pair of platform sandals that just did not work for me. I'm ashamed to say that I finally decided to do
away with them because...the soles squeaked. But I didn't want to be walking around the office all creak...creak...creak...
So, they went to Value Village, and hopefully to a good home after that. |

WTF is up with all the gd pink ties?!dogbert, the pink ties are jumping out at me every where I go. I can't get away from them. I was blissfully ignorant until you mentioned them. |

My friends, I never thought this would happen to me. I thought that I would be immune! But I too have fallen prey to bad-fitting bra syndrome, as covered
(again and again) on Oprah and various makeover shows.
So today, I went to a little old lady bra ninja. And, she really was a ninja, though she wasn't so old. She was all about business, too -- she showed me to a dressing room, told me to take off my top, measured me in my embarrassing ill-fitting bra, disappeared for a few minutes, brought me in some bras and was like, let's try these. And, no, she didn't step out while I was changing, either; it's a good thing I'm not particularly shy because she had no problem handling the girls. The first one we tried was a 32 DD (!! - I had no idea they made that size cup with such a relatively small band.) The cup fit okay, but the band was a little tight. Anyway, in like, 10, 15 minutes I had three of the best fitting bras I think I've ever had. 34 D. Who knew? I didn't. D seems so large. I think one of them is actually a 34 DD, but that's just that weird bra. It's a shame you can't really do anything with old bras that don't fit anymore. I guess I could make slingshots out of them, but that would be of limited usefulness. |
