20 minutes tap--a combo of me getting there late, and us just working on a new routine, so there's not much continuous tapping. I am going to ask that we
do some of our old stuff next week so we don't immediately forget it.
Tomorrow I have an orientation session with the trainer at my new gym. |

Lasu, instead of throwing out/donating your old clothes, have you considered whether a seamstress could take any of them in?

No minutes to report, but I did day 2 of the 100 pushups challenge. So far, so good, although as I recall I was further along last time before I reached the
point where I couldn't do the assigned number of consecutive pushups.

I finally opened my EA Sports Active for the Wii, which I got for my birthday (which was a month ago), and tried it out this morning. I like it so far, but
man, ow! Lots of squats and lunges. I really want to do the 30 day challenge but we're going on our cruise in 10 days (which is one reason I busted this
thing out finally) but I'll do what I can. I did the body test on the Fit and have gained 8 lbs since the last time I did the test over 3 months ago.
Yikes.

What does the EA Sports Active have on it? How is it different than the regular Fit stuff? Not that I've been on my Fit since, ohhhhhh, Feb? maybe?

It comes with a leg strap thingy to hold the nunchuk when you're not using it and a exercise band thingy. You don't use the balance board at all.
I've only done one set of exercises but it has 2 kinds of lunges (both are evil), squats, rows, bicep curls... eveything is outside and the scenery changes
which is nice. The cardio is done on a track and you walk, run or do knee raises or kick backs (butt kicks as I call them). It seems to be a lot more
customizable than the Fit is, with a lot more exercises, especially cardio. The Fit is great for yoga and the balance games, but the cardio gets old quickly.
I can give a better report when I've done more than one set of exercises but so far I like it. Except I don't like that i can't skip an exercise, but I guess that's a good thing in the long run. |

35 minutes--15 elliptical, 20 weights. I did the "Fat Burning" mode on the elliptical, and I liked it--it kept my heart rate down; I was going more
slowly than usual, but the resistance was cranked up a bit. I wound up burning essentially the same number of calories as I did with the old method.

Two hours of tae kwon do, in an actual exercise room with mirrors. What a difference it makes to be able to see yourself, check your stances, make sure you
haven't rotated your hips, etc. The only hard part was that it's so freakin' damp (ground-level fog) that our bare feet were sticking to the rubber
floor; we had to make little hops on our turns. New kick tonight: spinning (oy, with the spinning!) hook kick. Gonna take some practice, that one, since I
never really practiced the hook kick and now I have to do it spinning.
And I wish my damned knee would decide whether it's better or not. It felt fine all day, then as soon as I got into tae kwon do and did a deep front stance, ow. Grrmpf. |

Your knee is fine so long as you ask nothing of it. Knees can be like that.

Only 20 minutes of recumbent bike this morning at the Zone - I was taking my car into the dealership for its 5K checkup and I thought there was going to be
road construction on the way there. Of course, they knocked off for the holidays so it was clear sailing and I got to my appointment 20 minutes early. Grrrr.
Now, do I go to the gym again at 3:30 to do the water aerobics class since the gym will be closed tomorrow, or do I take a nap? Right now, the nap is winning. |

25 minutes walking, 20 minutes on the stationary bike, 10 minutes rowing (which requires a 90-second rest in the middle), & 10 minutes using various weight
machines for exercises I can't do with free weights at home when the Y is closed tomorrow.
Hey, Moppet, on the rowing machine, does it matter if you pull more with your arms or with your shoulder blades? I'm trying to figure out what the proper form is. |

Hmm, pulling with your shoulder blades -- I'm not sure I know what you mean. You should have your hands about shoulder-width apart and, with a slight
backwards lean (enough to engage your abs) you should pull back straight into your chest (well, for me it's sort of around my bust area)

I'm sorry that I haven't posted here more regularly lately.
June 30 - two forty-five minute walks on the treadmill - one for 2.51 miles, and the other for 2.52 miles. July 1 - a forty-five minute walk for 2.52 miles, and a twenty-minute walk for 1.23 miles. July 2 - two forty-five minute walks - one for 2.51 miles, and the other for 2.52 miles. Today - a forty-five minute walk for 2.52 miles. Zero minutes to go! I am finished! I wanted to finish today, because I don't think I'll have any time tomorrow to go on the treadmill. Ouch! I definitely don't think you should get your boobs hemmed, ODF! FH, you are too funny! ROTFLMAO! I'm hoping to see a nice weight loss tomorrow morning, because I didn't eat outside my house once this week, and I didn't eat even one gluten-free low sodium chip or almond. Just my three meals each day. The rest of the month is going to be hard, because tomorrow is July 4, "Debbie's" son's junior high graduation party is July 11, we're going to a fund-raiser on July 18 at Monmouth Raceway, where we will sit in a fancy luxury box and have a buffet lunch, and we're going to a casino on July 28. That takes care of the Saturdays. Plus, we're going to a restaurant on July 8 where there's a promotion to buy one dinner and get one free, and there's going to be a carnival in July, and we'll go if it doesn't rain, and Debbie's son might be having another graduation dinner on July 10 at the Chinese buffet restaurant. He keeps changing his mind. He's known for changing his mind. I bought a different kind of sardines in water with no added salt, and I add EVOO to them, but they taste a little funny. Today, I figured out that maybe they taste funny because of the EVOO. So next time I eat them, I'll try them as they are. They look better in the tin than the other sardines in water with no added salt. I had coupons for Zone bars, so I bought two boxes. Twice a week, I have a Zone bar and a yogurt for breakfast. It seems to be a good source of protein and doesn't have too much sodium. It has sugar, but not more than I can handle. I have eight bars left, and when they're gone, I'll decide if I should keep buying them. |

So, if I want to keep track of my minutes, when do I start/how long do I track? Is it monthly?

We restart the count every Sunday, and give everyone 150 minutes, and once the count is posted, you can add or subtract as necessary to get to whatever goal
you set for yourself that week. We then usually post whenever we have minutes to subtract.
