Neosporin!

I am going on Thursday to a local salon where a stylist is interviewing. As part of the
interview process, they need to see her work on someone, so I am getting a free haircut and highlights. I get to chose my highlight color and my style, so
I'm going to go super safe since I have no idea about this person. But, free is a chance I'm willing to take. Because I am cheap and I need a haircut.

I would, but I can't. It doesn't have a head on it yet (is this grossing anyone else out yet?) It might not -- I sometimes get these painful bumps that
eventually just reabsorb instead of coming to the surface.

The skin will still absorb neosporin, and I like to think it can still help some then. But, y'know, I don't know FOR SURE. The neosporin makes me feel
like I'm being proactive.

I was getting terrible cysts like that in my chin for awhile. I started getting semi regular facials (every few months) and after awhile my esthetician said
she thought I should see a dermatologist. They'd go away after she dealt with them during the facial, but they would come back after a little while in
either the exact same place or very close to the last location. The doctor put me on a low dose antibiotic and a facial gel to use at night. It helped
tremendously. I'm no longer on the antibiotic and I'm now using a different thing at night along with a perscription lotion in the AM. I wish I'd
gone to the doctor sooner-those suckers are incredibly painful. There was no way I could even ATTEMPT to pop these things. Too much pain, plus they never
really came to a head. It was horrible. I'm hoping they stay away but if they were to come back I wouldn't hesitate to take an antibiotic for them
again. Ugh. Awful!
All this is to say, go to the doctor! |

Too much pain, plus they never really came to a head. It was horrible. Yes, and yes! I get them fairly infrequently now (it just to be much more common when I was in puberty/late teens.) But I will definitely keep this advice in mind, particularly if this keeps on happening. I hadn't had one for months and months it seems, and now there have been two in the last two months. |

I have one of those evil monster zits right now. It's on my chin and it was under the skin and I couldn't even smile so I used hot water and benzoyl
peroxide and alcohol to bring it to a head and I was just happy. I went in to to teach a class today and one of my students demanded I cover it with a band-aid
because it was creeping her out. I didn't want to because the zit is a resurgence of an accidentally popped zit from last week. Well beneath the band-aid
the evil white head went flat and oozy and then the skin peeled and now I'm terrified that I'm gonna have to do this all again next week. One 14 yr old
suggested vaseline and tape (that boy is gonna jack up his skin), one went to school with toothpaste on her zit once (I had to explain about OVERNIGHT
treatments), I'm too old for this!

Hot water on a washcloth pressed to the area over & over.

Hot water on a washcloth will help bring it to the surface, and then you can pop it and put neosporin on it! (I have kind of a one track mind, no?)

If you get the neosporin with pain relief, the one that's got lidocaine or something in it, it'll make it less hurty even if it's not opened up.

I'll try to bring to to the surface, but I'm not going to get *too* squeezy with it. I already have some scarring on my forehead from previous
aggressive extractions, but at least they're covered by my hair. This is right on on my face and I don't want a big dark bruisy looking thing there.

My hair is so long. That's what I get for basically ignoring it and putting it up all winter. It's to the back of my bra if I straighten it. If the
humidity is the right level (very high) it looks nice all wavy, but otherwise it's kind of blah. I usually have a ponytail holder around my wrist and just
throw it up if I'm outdoors and it's hot. I wish I had learned how to french braid on myself. I cannot figure it out for the life of me. I was never
particularly adept at doing it on someone else's hair, so forget self-braiding.

You should one of those pony tail magic thingies that I see in infomercials! They make it look so easy....

I taught myself on my Cabbage Patch doll in high school and then transferred it to my own head. I guess you don't have one of those laying around...

They make it look so easyI think it's only easy if you have straight sleek hair. |
